Payment Justice

Payment processors count on merchants fighting alone.

Payment processing needs transparency, and we're starting with Shift4. We've spent over a decade in payments and hold hundreds of documents that, in our view, show Shift4 abusing its own customers. We're collecting more to file with the FTC and state consumer protection agencies.

Shift4 customers: start here

Why now

On October 29, 2026, the FTC and state enforcers sued Toast, alleging misrepresentations, fees charged without consent, and cancellation barriers. Toast disputes the allegations, and no court has ruled on them.

In our view, what Shift4's customers have documented is much worse than what's alleged against Toast. Regulators should see it. Your contract, your statements and your emails are how that happens.
